Michael Ennis has been found guilty of a Grade One careless high tackle charge after a judiciary hearing held at NRL Central earlier tonight.
Ennis was forced to front the judiciary after being charged by the match review committee for a 69th minute tackle on Cowboy winger Matt Wright.
With carry overs and the points added for challenging and failing to have his charge dismissed, Ennis now misses the Sharks match against the Manly Sea Eagles on Sunday.
It has also thrown NSW Origin preparations into disarray, with Ennis the logical choice for the Blues should Robbie Farah fail to recover in time from a broken hand suffered playing for the Tigers last weekend.
Under NRL and Origin rules, Ennis could however be brought into the NSW team should Farah be ruled out with injury.
The Ennis suspension is for just one match, making him available to play the St George Illawarra Dragons in the local derby match scheduled for Monday week whether or not he turns out for NSW in the Origin match at Suncorp next Wednesday.
