Cronulla Sharks Head Coach Shane Flanagan spoke with the media at Sydney Airport this morning before his side flew to Townsville to take on the North Queensland Cowboys, who are on an 11-game winning streak.

“It’ll be a dry track and they’re a great team going well so it’ll be a good challenge but we’re looking forward to it,” Flanagan said.

With skipper Paul Gallen ruled out, much of the media attention turned to his Captain’s omission from this weekend’s match, which Flanagan said was a precautionary move ahead of the run home this season, with 10 rounds to go after this clash.

“Gal trained well on Wednesday night and did nearly everything bar the contact and just probably fell a little short,” Flanagan said.
