With confidence high after a solid win over the Newcastle Knights the NYC Sharks face a formidable challenge this weekend when they travel to Townsville to take on the Cowboys.

The Sharks moved up to 10th place with their sixth win of the 2015 season, with their tally of 16 competition points seeing them level with the seventh placed Tigers.

Their opposition this week however is on a similar run to that of their NRL counterparts, and while the NYC Cowboys may not have strung together the 11 wins of the senior side, their last four outings have brought four wins which has been equally impressive.

The young Sharks have registered some strong wins against teams ranked above them on the ladder, the Warriors and Roosters amongst them, and they will head to Townsville eyeing another upset result.

After the Newcastle victory Coach James Shepherd has understandably kept the changes to a minimum, however the NSW Under-18’s representative centre Curtis Scott has accepted the early plea on a contrary conduct charge and will miss the Cowboys match.

There is a Women’s interstate match in between the NYC and NRL games, meaning the under-20’s contest kicks off at the earlier time of 1.00pm on Saturday at 1-300 SMILES Stadium.

The Sharks team list is as follows;
