THE FULLBACKS | Michael Gordon v Kurt Gidley

Michael Gordon was at his brilliant best last start against the Roosters, and the fullback is again poised to have a huge influence on the result when he and the Sharks front the Knights on Sunday.

Roosters halves James Maloney and Mitchell Pearce threw plenty of questions at the Cronulla fullback, but ‘Flash’ found the answers time and time again to keep the side in good stead.

Gordon defused four bombs, whilst running for 141 metres from his 18 carries. The ever-reliable number one racked up seven tackle busts, and made two vital stops on the Roosters attackers – a feat he will need to replicate against the Novocastrians on Sunday.

At the opposite end of the Hunter Stadium will stand former NSW Blues captain, Kurt Gidley. The Knights skipper – whilst not at his best of late – is always capable of playing a starring role, and will be under the close watch of the Cronulla team.
