Full of confidence having toppled the Roosters in round five, the Sharks returned to a rain-sodden Remondis Stadium to take on a Knights side that had won four of their previous five matches.

Michael Gordon kicked the side to a 4-2 lead inside the first 20 minutes, before five-eighth Jack Bird scored the first try of the night to extend the Sharks' lead to four.

In what was just his third NRL appearance, Bird again played a role in Luke Lewis' try when he linked with fellow young gun Valentine Holmes who chipped for the veteran back rower.

At the change of ends, Ben Barba scored his first try in Sharks colours when Sosaia Feki turned provider, and the side posted more points through the good work of Chris Heighington.

On a sour note, David Fifita and Barba limped off with injuries, but that and the driving rain would not dampen the spirits of the Cronulla faithful who were treated to a 22-6 win.

Re-live all the action from round six, with our 'Last Time They Met' highlights package now playing on Sharks TV.
