Bruised and battered with a rib injury that threatens to rule him out of the series decider, Paul Gallen was nonetheless and proud captain when he fronted the post match press conference with NSW Coach Laurie Daley.

Gallen injured a rib early in the first half but battled on bravely, helping to guide his team to a 26-18 victory in leveling the series at one win apiece.

His injury will now be assessed, both in relation to when he can play for the Sharks again and also as to his status for the Origin decider on July 8.

Also proud of the efforts of his team was coach Daley, who was both excited about the win but also believing his team could make considerable improvements for Game 3 at Suncorp.

See what Daley and Gallen had to say, with the press conference now playing on Sharks TV.
