After an impressive win over the Illawarra Cutters at their last start the Newtown Jets will attempt to climb further up the NSW Cup ladder when they take on the Bulldogs on Saturday.
In a match scheduled to follow the under 16 and under-18 National Championship Finals featuring the two Sharks Junior rep teams playing the Townsville Stingers, the game is set down for a 3.00pm kick-off at Belmore Sports Ground.
With the Sharks NRL team experiencing a tough run with injury at the present time the Newtown ranks have also taken a hit, with Blake Ayshford the latest player to get the call up to the top grade.
Ayshford has been solid for the Jets so far in 2015 and will be looking to produce some of the form that saw him selected in the Auckland Nines team of the tournament at the NRL’s season-opening event back in February.
Mitch Brown returns to the Jets line-up after earning a call-up to the Sharks NRL team for the Warriors game last weekend, while Jacob Gagan is returning to full fitness after injury and has been named in the Newtown starting line up.
