The Newtown Jets face an important match on Saturday as they look to keep pace with the competition front runners.
The seventh-placed Jets take on an Illawarra Cutters team in eighth, with match scheduled for a 3.00pm kick off at Henson Park on Saturday.
For the Jets Mitch Brown and Nathan Gardner return from duty with the VB NSW Cup representative team, while Blake Ayshford, Jacob Gagan and Pat Politoni also add NRL experience to the Jets side.
Interestingly Politoni has also been named in the Sharks NRL squad on an extended interchange bench, with decisions to be made as to where the Tongan hooker will play set to be made later in the week.
The Jets v Cutters game will be the second of a double-header to be played at Henson on Saturday, with the Manly Sea Eagles playing the New Zealand Warriors at 1.00pm.
In a curtain-raiser also scheduled for Henson on Saturday, Manly plays the Newcastle Knights in the NYC at 11.00am.
