Two more Sharks in rep matches
Well publicised has been the fact that Luke Lewis will play for Australia on Friday, Wade Graham, Andrew Fifita and Jack Bird in the City v Country game, the likes of Ricky Leutele, Sosaia Feki, Jayson Bukuya and Pat Politoni in the Pacific Test matches, Valentine Holmes for the Junior Kangaroos and Jamayne Isaako the Junior Kiwis.

One representative game this weekend and the selection of two Sharks players however has somewhat snuck under the radar.

A VB NSW Cup representative team has been named to play against the Queensland Residents team at Tapout Energy Stadium in Brisbane on Sunday, May 3, kicking off at 1.30pm and included in that NSW team are the Sharks pair of Nathan Gardner and Mitch Brown.

Both are more than deserving of their places in the side after performing strongly for Newtown in the VB NSW Cup thus far this season, with Gardner and Brown due to go into camp today. They will travel up to Brisbane tomorrow ahead of the match this weekend.

As with all the Sharks in rep matches this weekend we wish them both the best of luck.

VB NSW Cup Representative side:
1. Nathan Gardner  (Newtown/Cronulla)
2. Mitch Brown (Newtown/Cronulla)
3. Levi Dodd (Canterbury)
4. Peter Mata’utia (Illawarra/St George Illawarra)
5. Chanel Mata’utia (Newcastle)
6. Darren Nicholls (North Sydney/South Sydney)
7. Mitch Cornish (Mounties/Canberra)
8. Sam Anderson (Penrith)
9. Mitch Williams (C) (Wyong/Sydney Roosters)
10. Danny Fualalo (Canterbury)
11. Will Matthews (Illawarra/St George Illawarra)
12. Mitch Barnett (Mounties/Canberra)
13. Adam Elliott (Canterbury)
14. Matt Hyland (North Sydney/South Sydney)
15. Leilani Latu (Penrith)
16. Mark Nicholls (Mounties/Canberra)
17. Nathan Green (Illawarra/St George Illawarra)
18. Daniel Alvaro (Wentworthville/Parramatta)
19. Nathan Ross (Newcastle)

The VB NSW Cup Representative Team’s clash against Queensland Residents will be broadcast live on Channel 9 on Sunday at 1:30pm.

Business end for Sharks Junior reps
It is down to the business end for the Sharks Matthews Cup and SG Ball teams, with the two junior rep sides to play for places in their respective Grand Finals at St Marys Leagues Stadium on Saturday.

Both enjoyed wins in week two of the finals to progress, with the Matts Cup under-16 Sharks to now face the Bulldogs, while the Ball Sharks play the Penrith Panthers.

The achievement of having two teams in the final four of both competitions is significant, with the Sharks the only club to have their two teams playing on Saturday.

Games are scheduled for 1.30pm (Matts Cup) and 3.00pm (SG Ball).
