In possibly their most dominant display of the 2015 NSW Cup season, the Newtown Jets have registered a convincing 40-18 victory over the North Sydney Bears.

Played on Sunday at North Sydney Oval, the Jets, the Sharks VB NSW Cup partner club, jumped out to 16-0 half time advantage, then a 28-0 lead early in the second period and from there they never looked back, going on to cross for seven tries in what was an impressive performance.

With Nathan Gardner at fullback and five eighth Dallas Wells inspiring the Jets attack the Bears had no answer, with Wells and half back Todd Murphy each notching two tries.

Winger Mitch Brown also got over the stripe once again for the Jets, making it five tries in three matches for the Sharks-contracted outside back.

After losing their opening two games of the 2015 season the Jets have stormed back into form and have begun a climb up the NSW Cup ladder, with this their fourth win seeing them in third position on eight points.

With a plus-30 for-and-against the Jets are equal with the second-placed Wyong Roos and trailing only the undefeated Mounties side.

In what will be a test of their credentials, the Jets in fact face the ladder-leading Mounties this weekend in round 7, with that match scheduled for a 3.00pm kick off at Henson Park on Saturday.
