Jack Bird will play his first game for the Jets while Sam Tagataese is slated for a return to the field when the Sharks NSW Cup partner club Newtown plays Newcastle on Saturday.

Bird was 18th man for the Sharks on Sunday and didn’t manage to get any game time, with coach Shane Flanagan obviously sending him back to the Jets for the 19-year-old to get some valuable game time under his belt.

The addition of Tagataese makes it 10 Sharks-contracted players in a Jets team that was slightly disappointing in registering a first round loss against the Wests Tigers.

The round two match is scheduled for a 3.00pm start at Cessnock Sportsground on Saturday.
