Round 1 Team announcement tomorrow
Under a new agreement with NRL partner Telstra, team announcements across the 16 NRL clubs will be made for all games during the 2015 season on Tuesday’s at 5.00pm.

The Sharks teams will be live and available on the Sharks website by 5.01pm, with this week’s round one side attracting plenty of interest and speculation.

For the first time in a number of years the depth of the Sharks squad and the lack of injuries amongst the NRL group means coach Shane Flanagan

Raiders’ team selection
Likewise we will find out at 5.00pm tomorrow the make-up of the Canberra Raiders team to tackle the Sharks, with coach Ricky Stuart giving very little away as to his 17-man squad.

The Canberra Times however in an article written by Chris Wilson has speculated as to some of those likely to get the call-up to tackle the Sharks, with young halfback Mitch Cornish favoured to win the number seven jersey for round one.

One player set to miss the Sharks match is hard-hitting lock Shaun Fensom who is battling a knee and hamstring complaint.

Murphy a Qld ‘rookie’ to look out for
While Todd Murphy may not get his name called in the Sharks NRL squad tomorrow for the round one match against the Raiders, plenty of good judges believe he will be up to the challenge once the opportunity to prove himself in the top grade presents.

Murphy, who joined the Sharks in the off season after a strong year in the Intrust Super Cup last season for the North Devils, has been included in a list of the 10 Queensland rookies to watch in 2015.

A solid performer at the Auckland Nines despite feeling the effects of a virus while in New Zealand, Murphy has also been impressive in recent trial matches and is shaping as a capable replacement should he be required.

Adding in the fact he is an accomplished goal kicker as another string to his bow, Murphy will certainly be a welcome addition to the Newtown Jets side starting Saturday.

Junior Sharks join the Jets at Henson
After a narrow loss and a draw in games played against the Bulldogs, the Sharks junior rep teams travel to Henson Park this weekend where they will take on the Roosters.

The young Sharks would have been disappointed not to come away with two victories against the Dogs, however they have a chance to atone when they play the traditionally strong Roosters line-ups on Saturday.

While Rooster home games the two Sharks teams are likely to have good support at Henson on Saturday as the lead-in matches to the season opening NSW Cup clash which sees the Newtown Jets take on the Wests Tigers.

Teams in the NRL, NSW Cup and NYC will be announced tomorrow, however with the majority of the Sharks NRL squad fit and ready to go on Sunday, a number of talented Sharks will join the Jets side for their opening round match the day prior.

And in a reminder to Sharks fans while providing extra encouragement to get out to Henson this Saturday, 2015 Sharks members will be admitted free.

The NSW Cup is scheduled for 3.00pm, with the junior reps at 12 noon (Matts Cup) and 1.30pm (SG Ball).
