The local Sutherland Shire community was shocked and saddened by the news of media personality and long-time Sharks fan Glenn Wheeler’s involvement in a motor cycle accident some two weeks ago.

Glenn was knocked off a motor scooter in Woolooware and although all the signs are positive and he is receiving the best possible care, he remains in a serious condition in St George Hospital.

It goes without saying the thoughts and prayers of all at the Sharks are with Glenn and his family at this time.

But it is not only the Sharks fraternity that send their best wishes to Glenn and his close friends and family, with all who know and love him from his involvement in local charities, to his work on radio and television, getting involved in a special community event in a united show of support.

This Saturday, February 14, his friends, colleagues, Sharks staff, players, members and fans, as well as anyone who may know Glenn personally or as a listener and viewer of his radio and television shows, are invited to attend Elouera Surf Club and to be a part of our giant sign of support.

The event organisers are looking for as many people as possible to help form a giant human ‘Get Well’ sign for Glenn.

Three drone cameras will be high in the sky photographing, filming and recording the message, with a large, framed aerial photograph to be presented to the Wheeler family, while those who attend will also have the opportunity to write their own personal messages of support.

At the insistence of Sharks coach Shane Flanagan in recognition of Glenn’s unwavering support of the Cronulla club over many years, the majority of the players from the NRL, NYC and junior rep teams will be present to help form the human Get Well sign.

Everybody in the local area, not only those associated with the Sharks, knows Glenn and the support he gives to the local community and now it is our turn to support him.

Be at Elouera on or before 7.30am, this Saturday and be a part of this special event.
