NRL Dick Smith Nines
A busy day for the Sharks before the NRL Nines kicks off tomorrow included a captain-coach media session, a Fan Meet and Greet and a training session at the Sacred Heart College in Auckland.

Wade Graham, skipper for this weeks’ event joined Shane Flanagan early in the morning to meet with the media and discuss the Sharks chances at the Nines, before joining the rest of the team at a Captain’s run training session.

A school renowned as a sporting powerhouse in New Zealand, Sacred Heart provided excellent facilities for the Sharks to put the finishing touches on their preparations with field and gym session.

From there it was a quick lunch before the group attended a Fan Day Meet and Greet in the Aotea Square in downtown Auckland.

The Sharks begin their Nines campaign with a game against the Bulldogs at 3.35pm (NZ time, 1.35pm Sydney time), before tackling the Broncos later in the day.

Their final round robin match is against the Roosters on Sunday afternoon (1.40pm NZ time, 11.40am Sydney time).

Watch the Nines in the Locker Room

If you're not at Eden Park in Auckland the next best place to watch the NRL Nines tomorrow might well be the Locker Room, a newly created fan facility located at foyer level in Sharkies Leagues Club.

The Locker Room, which has been refurbished and features Sharks photos and memorabilia as a part of its décor, will be having its official launch to coincide with the NRL Nines kicking off tomorrow.

The Locker Room is set to show all the action of the Nines live on the new big screen televisions, with the bar open and food available, with a number of promotions planned for the day.

Also showing in the Locker Room will be the Gallen-Sonny Bill Williams fight night, as well as the Asian Cup Soccer Final between Australia and South Korea.

Not going to Eden Park, Stadium Australia or the big boxing night, join us in the Locker Room from 10.00am tomorrow.

Queensland to Host Stand-Alone Rep Round
International Rugby League returns to South-East Queensland this year with Brisbane and the Gold Coast set to host a blockbuster stand-alone weekend of representative rugby league in May.

Suncorp Stadium will host the traditional Trans-Tasman Test Match between Australia and New Zealand on Friday May 1, with the game the only international match between the Kangaroos and the Kiwis in 2015.

The Test Match will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the ANZAC landings at Gallipoli.

May 1 also sees the Australian Jillaroos take on the NZ Kiwi Ferns in the curtain raiser at Suncorp Stadium, while Pacific powerhouses Samoa, Fiji, Tonga and Papua New Guinea will be part of a triple-header at Gold Coast’s Cbus Super Stadium on Saturday May 2.

The first match on Saturday night (May 2) will feature the Junior Kangaroos against the Junior Kiwis, the PNG Kumuls will then take on Fiji Bati, before Samoa return to the international stage following their successful Four Nations campaign when they tackle traditional rivals Tonga.

While in New Zealand for the Auckland Nines the NRL have today announced that there will be four themed rounds during the 2015 Telstra Premiership.

The themed rounds, which focus attention on important aspects of Rugby League, will be:

•   Heritage Round (Round 19) – partnering with the Men of League to recognise past players and the history of the game. It will include a charity element for injured players

•   Indigenous Round (Round 22) – supporting the huge contribution of Indigenous communities to Rugby League

In addition, the NRL will stage one of its biggest rounds ever – with five games in five cities on ANZAC Day – as part of the commemoration of the 100 years of ANZAC.
