The Sharks are seeking dedicated fans who are available for most home games and people committed, reliable and hardworking to join the 2015 Sharkcrew, a volunteer group aimed at enhancing the game day experience for all concerned.

With an ability to work well with others, Sharkcrew members are being recruited to fill a variety of roles with the initial intake of volunteers to have a game day focus around their activities.

Sharkcrew members will provide assistance with entertainment, community activations, ‘money can’t buy’ experiences, front entrance greetings and collateral handouts, as well as helping with other game day tasks in and around Remondis Stadium.

Kathy Ismay, the Chairperson of Promotions for the Cronulla-Sutherland Junior League and the lady in charge of the mini and mod junior league displays that have been a big part of Sharks game day entertainment throughout the years, has been enlisted as the first member of the Sharkcrew volunteer program.

For the past 13 years Kathy has been running mini games prior to kick off and at half time, along with the parades, relays and skill displays and has been an invaluable asset to Sharks game day staff on behalf of the junior league and the activities they conduct.

Jessica Goddard, Group Manager of Community, Game Day and Events  at the Sharks, explained the motivation behind the Sharkcrew and how in a round-a-bout way Ms Ismay had helped to inspire the initiation of the group.

“Kathy has been a great assistance to our game day activities and what she has done over a number of years shows how valuable game day volunteers can be,” Ms Goddard said.

“To make Sharks home games a more memorable experience we need a few more hands on deck and by encouraging members and fans to help out, they can feel a part of what we are doing at the Sharks and from our point of view we will benefit from their contribution and from their enthusiasm.”

For their time and effort Sharkcrew volunteers will receive a dedicated polo shirt and jacket, two tickets for each home game, a 20 per cent discount on Sharks Shop merchandise and a full squad Sharkcrew ‘thank you’ barbeque at season’s end.
