The Australian’s managed a win in the cricket but a loss in the Asian Cup soccer, while the National Tennis Open, the first major on the international tennis calendar, gets underway today in Melbourne.
All that being considered the NRL is still very much in the news with numerous articles appearing on line and in sporting pages of the newspapers over the weekend.
In the second edition of a regular Monday feature, sharks.com.au provides links to some Sharks-related offerings from the past few days.
Ben Barba continues to attract plenty of attention, with his predicted naming today as the five eighth in the Indigenous All Stars team covered in the Daily Telegraph.
Barba told Telegraph journalist Paul Crawley just how he hopes the All Stars game will kick start his 2015 season, just as his starring performance for the Indigenous Team managed to do the same a few years ago.
In a Sunday Telegraph feature Shane Flanagan told journalist Matt Logue in a piece headlined “The NRL’s 15M Battleground”, of his desire to recruit a quality half back for the years to come, while in a separate story Flanagan also revealed the club will soon sit down with Paul Gallen to discuss extending the Sharks skipper’s current NRL contract.
From across the ditch Stuff.co.nz reports on Fa’amanu Brown’s desire to learn from his experienced teammates and the challenge he faces to win a place in the Sharks side in 2015.
While in a conclusion to the story of Gallen and his act of kindness in assisting an injured elderly man at Miranda Westfield early last week, in a Daily Telegraph editorial Paul Crawley takes aim at some of the cyber-bullies who somehow found fault with the Sharks captain’s selfless act.
And finally from NRL.COM and reproduced on the Sharks website, the full list of fantasy team prices for the Sharks NRL team roster have been announced. Who is in your NRL fantasy team for 2015?
