The NRL enjoyed a big year in 2014, with the game strong and healthy and the momentum created for the years to come, as rugby league heads into an even bigger 2015 season.

Membership numbers across the board were up, crowds were healthy and the game is strong financially.

More people watched the Grand Final than ever before, Origin Game 2 was the highest viewed game in the history of the sport, while rugby league delivered the three highest rated shows of any kind on Australian TV in 2014. It is the biggest Australian sport on social media.

"Our game is the strongest sporting brand in Australia and that's something we can be proud of," NRL CEO Dave Smith says in the season wrap video. "Big things are happening across the whole of rugby league and it's only going to get better."

See the special video piece put together by NRL films, with Smith, along with Paul Kind Head of Commercial and Marketing and Head of Football Todd Greenberg, highlighting the season just gone, outlining the positives from season 2014 and what to look forward to into the future.
