The shattering disappointment of last week’s loss at the hands of Jonathan Thurston and the Cowboys showed many pundits that the Sharks bite is still sharp enough to penetrate any defence. In saying that, it leads us into the Sharks final game of the year against the Wests Tigers at Leichhardt Oval.

This weekend’s match against the Tigers will be the 25th meeting between the two clubs, with the Tigers holding the advantage with 16 wins. Our previous foray to Leichhardt Oval was a Round 1 clash in 2012 in front of a best-ever crowd at that venue of 19,762. This game however, ended disappointingly for a Sharks side on the other side of a Golden Point 17-16 loss.

Sharks speedster Sosaia Feki is one of nine players that have scored 2 tries against the Tigers in away matches and is in line for the Club Record for Most Away Tries Scored against them. It will be his first outright Club Scoring Record if he succeeds this weekend.

Our previous away encounter was a 30-6 win in Round 09 last year at Allianz, in front of a Friday night crowd of 9,858. Sosaia Feki scored twice, with Jayson Bukuya, Andrew Fifita, Jeff Robson also crossing for tries. Michael Gordon converted brilliantly, bagging 5 goals from 5 attempts.

The Sharks line-up from our last away meeting: 1.Fullback: Michael Gordon; 2.Wing: Sosaia Feki, 3.Centre: Ben Pomeroy, 4.Centre: Jonathan Wright, 5.Wing: Beau Ryan; 6.Five-Eighth: Todd Carney, 7.Halfback: Jeff Robson; 13.Lock: Chris Heighington, 12.Second Row: Wade Graham (Captain), 11.Second Row: Luke Lewis, 10.Front Row: Ben Ross, 9.Hooker: John Morris, 15.Front Row: Sam Tagataese. Interchange: 8.Andrew Fifita, 14.Isaac De Gois, 16.Jayson Bukuya, 17.Anthony Tupou. Referees: Ben Cummins & Phil Haines.

Go Sharks!
