Despite losing back rower Harrison Muller with a serious injury in just the second tackle of the game the NYC Sharks delivered one of their better defensive efforts of 2014 in beating the Storm 20-10 in their last outing.

After a season where the young Sharks have been competitive throughout without being able to finish games off, the victory was a just reward and testament to their perseverance during what has been a difficult 2014 campaign.

Encouraged by the performance and up against a Raiders team this week which has similarly failed to make an impact on the Holden Cup competition this season, the Sharks will like their chances of continuing on their winning ways on Sunday.

After their win over the Storm the Sharks moved level with the Raiders on 16 competition points, ahead of them on for-and-against and have the opportunity to potentially climb another rung up the ladder with a win over the Canberra side.

Sharks coach Dave Howlett has predictably rewarded those involved in the win last week, with minimal changes to his line up for this weekend’s match. Prop Kurt Dillon returns from injury in adding some much needed muscle to the forward pack.

The Sharks v Raiders NYC match is scheduled to get underway at 11.40am on Sunday at Remondis Stadium.
