With injury affecting the NRL squad the NSW Cup Sharks will be down on troops but determined to put their best foot forward as they look to build some momentum ahead of the upcoming finals series.

Currently seventh on the NSW Cup ladder the Sharks travel to Hunter Stadium to play the Newcastle Knights with a victory having the potential to put the Cronulla side in contention for a top four finish.

NSW Cup team regulars Pat Politoni, Tim Robinson and Tupou Sopoaga continue to make the most of their opportunities in the top grade and have been retained in the NRL squad, this week to be joined by Junior Roqica who will also make the trip east to New Zealand rather than north to Newcastle.

Once again the Storm have provided a handful of players to the Sharks NSW Cup side, including Travis Robinson, Justin O’Neill, Ben Hampton and George Rose, all players with extensive NRL experience.

The Sharks will look to reverse a loss earlier in the season suffered at the hands of the Knights but face a formidable challenge against a team which is also well positioned to make a run at the finals over the coming weeks.

The match, which will be shown live on Fox Sports, is scheduled for a 3.10pm kick off at Hunter Stadium on Saturday.
