Beaten at their last start and with the chasing pack closing in, the NSW Cup Sharks will look to bounce back and consolidate a place inside the top eight when they take on Manly in a round 15 match to be played on Saturday.
The Sharks were brave in defeat in going down 16-12 to the Warriors and are now seventh, with four teams within striking distance of a spot in the top eight.
This week they come up against one of those teams on the outside of the top eight looking in, with Manly in 11th just two points in arrears of the Sharks.
Coach Tony Herman has selected under 20’s fullback Valentine Holmes, along with interchange forward and NYC teammate Kurt Dillon and when that pair is added to the likes of Daniel Holdsworth at half back and Melbourne’s George Rose in the front row, the Sharks team features a mixture of youth and experience.
The Sharks came out on top the last time these two teams met, scoring a convincing 38-10 victory in a match played at Brookvale Oval.
This weekend the NSW Cup match will be the second of three games to be played at Remondis Stadium on Saturday, with kickoff set down for 5.15pm.
