While on the surface it might seem like panic stations for the NYC Sharks after six losses in succession, that couldn’t be further from the truth with the young Cronulla squad edging closer to that elusive win and confident of a bold showing against the third-placed St George Illawarra team on Saturday night.

In an amazing statistic coming from the losses the Sharks have led at some point in every game during the second half of all six matches, only to let the opposition off the hook late in the contest.

Needless to say coach Dave Howlett in the lead up to this week’s clash with the Dragons will be stressing the importance of his team concentrating for a full 80 minutes at WIN Stadium in this weekends’ match.

The Sharks gave up a try to the Dragons in the final minutes in going down 32-28 the last time the two sides met back in round three and will be determined to atone for that loss with a strong performance this time around.

A spate of injuries to the NRL squad has meant a couple of the sNYC Sharks players have been called into action in the higher grades, with Fa-amanu Brown to debut in the NRL and fullback Valentine Holmes to move into the NSW Cup side.

The Sharks have still managed to name a solid line up for the Dragons match, with new recruit Bradley Deitz set to play his second game for his new club after making the switch to Cronulla mid season. Deitz debuted in Sharks colours in the game against Souths, coming off the bench and playing in the hooking role.

The NYC match is scheduled to kick off at 5.15pm on Saturday night.
