Young ball girl Olivia Herman is on the job at Sharks NSW Cup matches rain hail or shine, whether it be fetching footballs, filling water bottles or running out kicking tees during games.

Dedicated to the cause, many also have a sneaking suspicion Olivia had something to do with the premiership win of the NSW Cup team last season, whispering a few words of wisdom into coach Tony Herman’s ear at various times during the year. Tony happens to be her dad.

Footy and the NSW Cup team aside, Olivia is now dedicated to another important cause, that being to raise money for the Starlight Children’s Foundation in an effort to transform the lives of sick kids and their families.

To date through her own enterprises, Olivia has raised $1290 on behalf of the Sharks in the VB NSW Cup Starlight Foundation Wish League, which is a NSWRL initiative supporting the outstanding cause, with Olivia and the Sharks so far on top of the Wish League leaderboard.

The NSW Cup Wish League was launched to help support the Starlight Children's Foundation and aims to raise enough money to grant three magical Starlight Wishes.

For six weeks through the NSW Cup clubs and supporters are asked to dig deep and donate, with Olivia taking charge and driving the Sharks fundraising efforts. She sent through an email encouraging as many people as possible to be aware and to get involved in supporting the cause.

“I'm trying to make a difference and support Starlight Children's Foundation - a cause I really care about,” Olivia began. “My goal is to raise $2,000 to help them continue their important work, and I'd really appreciate it if you could help by sponsoring me through my Supporter page.

“To give to my page, or to read more about why I'm doing what I'm doing, please visit:

“It would also be great if you could spread the word about what I'm doing by sharing the link above with your friends and family. The more people that know, the more money we can raise. Thanks in advance for your generosity - it means a lot,” she added.

In between her ball girl duties at this weeks’ NSW Cup game Olivia and a few of her friends will also be getting amongst the crowd accepting donations at Remondis Stadium this Saturday.

If at all possible support Olivia and help the Starlight Children's Foundation grant wishes for seriously ill children and their families.
