Before they knew it they were facing a 24-0 deficit and while their were moments when the NYC Sharks gained some momentum, the match against the Newcastle Knights in round four was probably won and lost in the early exchanges.
This week coach David Howlett will be hoping for a better start, but also a much-improved defensive performance when the NYC Sharks host the New Zealand Warriors at Remondis Stadium on Saturday.
After winning their first two games, then going down to the Dragons and Knights in back to back matches, a victory in this week’s clash will be no easy assignment for the young Sharks, with the junior Warriors perennial high achievers in the under 20’s competition.
This year the Kiwi side began slowly, with two losses however successive wins have them back on track with the Sharks needing to be on their game if they hope to notch their third win of the 2014 season.
The NYC match between the Sharks and Warriors will be the first of three games at Remondis Stadium on Saturday, with the kickoff scheduled for 10.40am.
