What the NYC Sharks were given in one hand, was taken away in another, when last minute results went for them in a win over the Bulldogs, then against the young Sharks when beaten on the bell by the Dragons.

The young Sharks scored two tries in the final three minutes to score a thrilling win in round two, however the boot was on the other foot last Saturday afternoon at Remondis when the Dragons crossed for a long range try to secure a narrow win in their round three match up.

The Sharks have had no trouble scoring points to date, clocking up 110 points in their three games so far, however it is defensively where coach Dave Howlett will be looking for a vast improvement against a quality Newcastle side.

The young Knights won their third match from as many start with a 50-0 thumping of the Melbourne Storm last night.

In naming their team the Sharks have resisted changes, with prop Kurt Dillon the only alteration, with the local De La Salle product selected to return after missing the Dragons game with injury.

The NYC Sharks will be the first of three games at Hunter Stadium on Sunday, with a kickoff time yet to be confirmed.

The NSW Cup Sharks are scheduled to get underway at 12.45pm, with the NRL match at 3.00pm.
