While it is a game a lot of Sharks and Dragons fans look forward to each year, don’t for a minute think the players don’t mark this one in the diary as well when the NRL draw comes out each year.

The local derby brings with it a big crowd and plenty of anticipation. All it needs to make it a special event is a large and enthusiastic crowd helping to provide a electric atmosphere and this year is no exception.

Michael Gordon is one Shark who can’t wait for kickoff and despite his team going into the game as underdogs, predicted a a hard fought match, where form on the board counts for little when the whistle goes off.

“Form goes out the window at a local derby, so it should be a cracking game,” Gordon said to NRL.com. “We try to take pride in our home ground, we don’t like losing here.

“Our supporters left disappointed last year and we don’t want that to happen again.”

NRL.com has produced a special game preview video, complete with the thoughts of Gordon ahead of the big match, with the video now playing on Sharks TV.

Push play, enjoy the video and get out the game at Remondis Stadium on tonight
