Debutants Michael Lichaa and David Fifita have retained their places in an 18-man Sharks squad for the local derby match up against the St George Illawarra Dragons on Saturday, with the Sharks chances also bolstered by the expected return of playmaker Todd Carney

The pair of first-gamers tried hard in the loss to the Bulldogs, warranting another opportunity against the Dragons this week, while Carney will be a welcome addition in providing some stability in the halves.

Missing from the Sharks side for the first two rounds, Carney has satisfied medical staff that he is full recovered from a hamstring strain and indications are he will make his long-awaited comeback this weekend.

In other team changes, Tupou Sopoaga, Chris Heigington and Sam Tagataese come into the starting 13, with Matt Prior, Tinirau Arona and Siosaia Vave, the later missing from the game against the Bulldogs on Monday night due to suspension, included with Lichaa and David Fifita on the extended bench.

The Sharks v Dragons NRL game is a part of the three game roster this Saturday at Remondis Stadium, with the main game kicking off at 7.00pm, the NYC at 4,45pm and the NSW Cup, where the Sharks play the Illawarra Cutters, starting at 2.40pm.
