Sharks Andrew Fifita, Siosaia Vave and Michael Gordon have been charged by the NRL match review committee following the round one clash with the Gold Coast Titans.
Fifita was charged with grade two shoulder contact on Titan David Mead in the 69th minute, Vave with dangerous contact on Will Zillman in the 50th minute, while Gordon was reported for tripping Albert Kelly midway through the first half of Monday night’s match.
The charge on Fifita attracted 350 points, meaning were he to challenge and lose at judiciary he could miss three matches. Were Fifita to accept an early guilty plea and he would be assessed 262 points, equating to a two-match suspension and 62 carry-over points.
For Vave, his alleged offence which was grade one, when added to loading from a previous charge, attracted 112 points for an early plea and 150 should he choose to challenge at a judiciary hearing.
Gordon would escape suspension either way, with grade one tripping 56 points should he accept and 75 were he to challenge and lose his case at a hearing.
The Sharks will consider the charges and the options available to them before submitting a response prior to the deadline of noon Wednesday.
