Todd Carney looked impressive on the training paddock, with his outside men including new boy Blake Ayshford enjoying the benefits of playing alongside the star five eighth.

Andrew Fifita cut an imposing figure, doing what he does best, rumbling down field with his usual vigour, while Michael Gordon took advantage of both the skill of Carney and the go-forward of Fifita in an energetic opposed session at Remondis Stadium.

And while Andrew was doing the business on the field, twin brother David worked with Sharks strength and conditioning coach David Boyle on the sidelines, rehabbing a pre-season foot injury, one he hopes to get right before the start of the season on March 10.

Sharks members had the chance to take in all the action on the training paddock and then took the opportunity to meet their favourite Sharks players at the first Members-Only open training session for 2014.

Paul Gallen, Luke Lewis, Beau Ryan, Carney and Gordon were some of the players swamped by the members as they posed for photographs and signed autographs well after the training session had concluded.

Kids, mums and dads and members of all ages attended the event, with all leaving with a special photograph or signature, as well as plenty of optimism for the 2014 season which lies ahead.

Sharks website cameras caught some of the excitement, with a gallery of the special members-only event now available and on-line.
