It may have been somewhat unannounced but it was certainly a nice surprise for all concerned when Andrew and David Fifita called in for an impromptu visit at Griffith High School on Wednesday when the pair were in the south-west NSW town on a family visit.

Former students at Griffith High, the Fifita’s addressed a whole of school assembly, before Andrew presented Principal Charlie Cochrane with a signed Kangaroos jersey that is set to take pride of place on the school’s Wall of Fame.

Deputy principal Richard Wiseman acted as ‘master of ceremonies’ at the assembly, announcing to the students that plans had already been in place to hang Andrew’s portrait on the school Wall of Fame even before his surprise stopover.
