Sharks skipper Paul Gallen moves back into the starting side at prop, while Andrew Fifita will once again play from the bench when Australia tackle Ireland in their third match at the Rugby League World Cup.


Gallen, who started the match against England in round one, then entered the game from the interchange bench in his teams win over Fiji, takes the place of Matt Scott in the Kangaroo front row.


As for Fifita, it will be his third consecutive appearance for Australia, with all three of his starts coming from the bench.


Fifita has provided the impact coach Tim Sheens has been looking for when throw into the games and is expected to play a role for Australia when the tournament enters the finals stage.


The third Shark in the Kangaroo squad, backrower Luke Lewis, returns home in the coming days to have his injured shoulder attended to and will play no further part in the World Cup.
