New recruit Josh Dugan dropped into the Sharks recovery session at North Cronulla Beach this week, seeking some attention on his ankle from club medical staff, while at the same time trying his new jersey on for size, before heading off on a well-earned break.

A star of Australia's winning World Cup campaign, Dugan played a leading role in the Kangaroos hard-fought victory over England in the final, while his combination with Valentine Holmes was a feature of his teams' play throughout the tournament.

Holmes scored a World Cup-leading 12 tries, many of those coming after receiving the last pass from Dugan.

Now with the World Cup out of the way, Dugan's attentions will turn to the Sharks, with his new head coach Shane Flanagan enjoying the sight of his representative recruit in the blue, black and white strip.

Dugan will be given time now to rest up and recharge, before preparations begin ahead of the start of the 2018 NRL season. Along with Wade Graham and Holmes, Dugan is expected back at training following the Christmas and New Year break.

With Matt Moylan impressing all with his skills at five eighth during the early stages of the pre-season, the prospect of Dugan joining the likes of Holmes, Ricky Leutele and Sosaia Feki in the Cronulla back line should have every Sharks fan excited about the prospects.

Dugan slipped into the 2018 Sharks 'Main' jersey design in a photo shoot held at North Cronulla.

The jersey is a cross between the traditional Hoops and Heritage ‘V’ designs, in what can best be called a “Chevron Hoop”.

The jersey (along with the 'Alternate' design, a twist on the popular heritage jersey from last year, it is a striking black jersey with a blue and white ‘V’) will become available in Men’s, Ladies, Youth and Infants sizes, with Sharks fans able to pre-order now for late December/early January delivery.

Jersey naming partner Opal Solar features on the front of the two new jersey designs, as do other major partners in Martec and Bang & Olufsen.
