The NYC Sharks continued their amazing winning run with a 14th consecutive victory last Friday night, a record streak for the Holden Cup competition.
John Morris boys avenged one of just two losses recorded all season with the 40-12 victory over the Broncos and on Saturday travel to Townsville in a bid to maintain their momentum just three weeks out from the NYC finals.
The Sharks sit nine points clear at the top of the table, having clinched the minor premiership but they likely won’t have things all their own way against a Cowboys side currently fourth and coming off a convincing 40-16 win over the Panthers at their last start.
Morris has predictably stuck with the team that defeated the Broncos, naming the same 1-17 for this weekend’s game.
Regular five eighth and skipper Jack Williams is still sidelined with a leg injury, with Billy Magoulias capably filling the captain’s role in his absence.
