Jayson Bukuya took the Sharks into his game day preparations as he and his teammates join the Lace Up campaign against social violence.

In a national effort to end social violnce, the Cronulla Sharks have teamed up with Step Back Think to support this year's Lace Up campaign. This weekend, the Sharks players will wear orange shoelaces to show our committment and raise awareness about social violence.

Social violence is a significant issue that impacts one in two men in their lifetimes, costing some of them their lives and damaging countless others. In 2016, social violence killed 20 Australians.

"Social violence is all too common. This game-changing campagin mobilies grassroots and elite sporting clubs to start conversations about social violence with team mates and friends," says Step Back Think CEO, Anna O'Halloran.

Bukuya said it is great that his teammates and the Club are joining the movement, one which has the potential to impact so many.

"I think it's great," said Bukuya.

"This can have a major effect on society so for us to be able to help, even if it is small like wearing these laces then I hope we can have an impact."

Step Back Think is a pioneering not-for-profit organisation focues on driving cultural change to end social violence through education and awareness raising campaigns.
