The last time the Sharks faced the Warriors was back in Round 16 of the 2016 season.

Running hot and looking to extend on their 10-game winning streak, the Sharks faithful were confident of getting the two-points, but the Warriors weren’t going to take a backward step.

The New Zealand side would run in two early tries to give the home side a shake, but the Sharks responded in typical fashion with a fight back just before the half time break to hit the sheds in front.

Both sides would come out firing, trading points throughout the second half, with a late penalty to the Warriors squaring it up with only a few minutes to play.

Despite a frantic finish to a match full of some of the most attractive football of the year, neither side could land the knockout blow, forcing the game into golden point.

It would be James Maloney who coolly slotted the match-winner to extend the Sharks winning record to 11 on the trot.
