It maybe first against last on Friday however the NYC Sharks will certainly be wary of their opponents the New Zealand Warriors ahead of their match this weekend.

A perennial powerhouse in the under 20’s competition, the Warriors have fallen on hard times in 2017 however they still have enough talent and size in their side to trouble any opposition.

This Sharks team however is a resilient bunch, never made more evident than in their 40-14 last start win over Souths.

Falling behind 14-0 early in the first half the Sharks were under pressure from their opponents, but they weathered the storm, regained control and ran away with the points in the second period.

The win saw the young Sharks maintain a five-point lead at the top of the NYC competition table with six rounds remaining.

Coach John Morris will again be without five-eighth and captain Jack Williams, but otherwise the team which claimed the win over Souths is intact, with a notable addition being the return of prop Brock Ilett after he missed the Rabbitohs game with injury.

The Sharks have named a 23-man squad, with that number to be cut back to 20 on Thursday afternoon, before the final 17 is revealed one-hour prior to kick off.

The Sharks Holden Cup squad list for the game against the Warriors is listed below.
