The Sharks NYC side have defeated the Wests Tigers at Leichhardt Oval on Saturday evening.

The Cronulla Sharks were the first to draw blood, with captain Jack Williams piercing through the Tigers line from close range in the fourth minute.

Kyle Flanagan would convert the try and the Sharks would be ahead 6-0.

The Sharks continued to mount pressure on the Tigers’ line and would spread the ball wide to find and unmarked Sione Katoa on the right wing who would go over and extend the Sharks lead to 10-0.

Flanagan’s conversion attempt was unsuccessful and the Sharks’ lead remained 10-0.

The Tigers were next on the scoreboard, with James Tautaiolefua going over in the right corner.

Not to be outdone, the young Sharks would hit back with Sione Katoa once again on the end of some silky backline play to go over on the right hand side.

Flanagan would convert the try and the score would go out to 16-6.

The to-ing and fro-ing on the scoreboard would continue with the Tigers going in next, this time through Edward Carter.

Tautaiolefua’s conversion was successful and the score would be 16-12.

With half time approaching, the Sharks would again get on the scoreboard with Blake Brailey laying on a soft pass for a barn-storming Billy Magoulias who would go over under the posts.

Flanagan would convert and the score would be 22-12 and would remain so at the break.

The Sharks had much of the early ball in the second half and would turn possession into points when Brock Illet crashed over for a try next to the sticks.

Flanagan would again convert the try and our lead was now 28-12.

With 28 minutes on the clock, Zach Faulkner would be next to get on the scorers list, he too crashing over off a short ball from Brailey under the sticks.

Flanagan would convert and the score would be 34-12 to the Sharks.

The Tigers hit back with seven minutes on the clock through Sauni, with kick converted and the score now 34-18.

The score would remaing 34-18 at the end of the match.
