The Cronulla Sharks’ Jillaroo-studded Women’s Series side will take to the field on Saturday evening at 6:15pm.
Coming off the back of an upset loss to the Newcastle Knights three weeks ago, the Sharks will be determined to remind everyone why they are one of the fiercest sides playing at the moment.
So far, our women in Black, White and Blue have secured convincing victories over the Canberra Raiders and local rivals the St. George Illawarra Dragons and led by Australian Jillaroo’s captain Ruan Sims, the 17-woman Sharks outfit is packed with experience and talent.
Strong centre Shontelle Stowers has proven extremely reliable for our Women’s Series side, scoring in each outing for the Sharks in 2017. Their opposition will have to work hard to fight off a number of deadly combinations within the Sharks’ side – especially that of Jillaroos players Alanna Ferguson, Maddie Studdon and Corban McGregor.
Fans can expect another display of exciting and fast-paced Rugby League as the Sharks’ Women’s Series side raises the curtain for the Club’s NRL clash at Southern Cross Group Stadium this weekend.
Tarsha Gale – Cronulla Sharks v Canberra Raiders

This Saturday’s clash against the Canberra Raiders is a must-win for the Sharks’ Tarsha Gale side.
After losing to the Illawarra Steelers in last weekend’s Qualifying Final, Cronulla’s Juniors will need to outplay Canberra to progress through to the Cup’s Preliminary Finals.
The Sharks will head into the battle with confidence, having smashed their opponents 56 – 14 back in Round 7 with our juniors running in a whopping ten tries to three, and captain Tayla Preston scoring herself a hat trick of tries.
Coming off a close 26-20 loss to the Steelers in the Qualifying Finals, Cronulla will be especially hungry for the win. The Sharks’ Preston and Akira Kelly are two of the Cup’s top try scorers, and will no doubt put Canberra’s defence to the test.
The nation’s capital however, are expected to put up a good fight and our Tarsha Gale side must watch out for the Raiders’ Jana Teivonen, who has proved lethal on the right wing.
With the stakes higher than ever, the Sharks must dig deep and remain composed in order to secure a win this Saturday.
