The Sharks rejoined the winner's circle last night with a strong display against the Parramatta Eels. A match played predominately in the middle of the park, the tough victory was one to savour for the Sharks.

1. Forwards show their metal

For much of the week leading into last night's game, the chat had been about Parramatta's forward pack taking it to that of the Sharks. However, the Sharks fed the homeside a peice of it's own medicine.

With the likes of Gallen, Lewis and Fifita all pitching in along with Jayson Bukuya having a major impact off the bench, the Sharks forward pack dominated the middle of the field.

This gave room to the outside backs who were able to pressure the homeside and not only force mistakes however score points also.

2. The backs find their mojo

The Sharks backline has not looked the same once in 2017 however last night's performance looked the closest it has to the polish of 2016.

With Valentine Holmes moving to fullback and Jack Bird shifted back to the centres, the Sharks backline looked in control for the most of the match.

Bird's defence of State of Origin centre Michael Jennings was something special, with the young gun out muscling and out classing his elder rival.

3. Segeyaro adds spark and quality

Take nothing away from Jayden Brailey's perfomance last night, he was again spectacular both in attack and defence however the inclusion of James Segeyaro to Shane Flanagan's game day 17 fits just right.

The grit and determination of Brailey around the ruck will be crucial to getting the Sharks into any match however the injection of a livewire Segeyaro late in the peice is sure to trouble wearying oppostion teams in weeks to come.

With Jayden playing in only his first year of NRL football, be sure to see Shane Flanagan look to use 'Chicko' in more ways than one during 2017.

Welcome to the Club Chicko!

4. ANZ Stadium proves happy hunting ground... again!

The last time Paul Gallen led the Sharks onto ANZ Stadium was that fateful evening in October, 2016 and tonight, the result was much the same; a win.

For years, the Sharks' record at ANZ Stadium had not made for happy reading however the Sharks are now 2 wins from 2 and seemingly don't seem daunted by the "big ground".

Hear's to hoping we'll be playing one or two more matches at ANZ this season!
