Yesterday named in the Sharks 21-man squad James Segeyaro today participated in his first training session with the full NRL group.

After four months on the sidelines hoping and waiting for a clearance to come through from UK SuperLeague team Leeds, Segeyaro was finally back doing what he does best, which was running plays, taking part in defensive drills and generally working up a sweat running around the field as a member of an NRL team.

Shortly after training had concluded and prior to him getting into the gym for a weights session, Segeyaro took time out to talk to Sharks TV about his excitement at being back in a team environment and his iimminent return to the NRL.

"I can't wait to get out to play, to train and to play with the boys," Segeyaro said. "Watching from the sidelines has been difficult and I can't wait to get back to playing footy."

A former Cowboy and more recently a Panther, Segeyaro was a former and is now set to be a current teammate of Jeremy Latimore, with the Sharks prop eager to see his mate back in action.

"He's the type of player who brings fans to the game and I'm looking forward to seeing him out there. When he gets his opportunity it will be exciting. He's a dynamic player and he will bring a lot to the group," Latimore added.

He will learn his fate later in the week, with young gun Jayden Brailey selected as starting hooker in the NRL team and Segeyaro in jersey 20. He is however certain to see some game time somewhere, whether that is with the Newtown Jets or coming off the bench in the Sharks NRL clash with the Eels.

See what Segeyaro had to say earlier today, now playing on Sharks TV.
