In a game that was exciting for everyone to watch, likely with the exception of the respective coaches, the NYC Sharks suffered a last minute 40-38 loss to the Broncos in round one.
End to end action and plenty of spectacular tries wouldn’t have meant much to Sharks coach John Morris when the final result went the way of the visitors, however there was enough positives to take from the game to indicate a successful season could be on the cards for the young Cronulla side.
However, before they look too far ahead the young Sharks face a formidable challenge against one the perennial Holden Cup hotshots in the Raiders in round two in a match to be played in Canberra on Saturday.
Morris has resisted making any changes, with the same 17 named, in addition to six reserves, which leaves his options open as to the final make-up of the team.
The NYC match is scheduled for a 5.15pm kick off at GIO Stadium.
