Sharks Allana Ferguson, Ruan Sims and Maddie Studdon will represent the Jillaroos at the Auckland Nines in February, while Corban McGregor joins the trio in the Women’s All Stars match a week later in Newcastle.

The four women, all members of the Sharks Women’s squad for the 2017 season, are set to play leading roles in the two matches showcasing the very best female rugby league talent.

The Harvey Norman Jillaroos take on the Kiwi Silver Ferns at the Downer Auckland Nines on February 4-5, with Jillaroos Coach Brad Donald naming a 16-strong squad.

“The Kiwis beat us at the Nines last year and the entire squad has been training hard to ensure that we are prepared to turn the result around in 2017,” Donald said.

“This is a big year for the Jillaroos, with a Test Match and the defence of the Rugby League World Cup.

“Our journey starts on February 4 in Auckland and the team is looking forward to the challenge.”

Women’s All Stars coach and current head coach of the Kawana Dolphins, Rob Brough named his team to take on the Indigenous Women’s team in Newcastle on February 10, with six debutants and the three Sharks girls included.

“We’ve picked a squad with a combination of strength and experience, along with some of the next generation of female stars,” Brough said.

“It’s fantastic to have such depth amongst women’s rugby league and the team is building nicely ahead of their All Stars title defence against the Indigenous Women’s team.

The Women’s All Stars tackle an Indigenous Women’s All Stars team to be coached by former NRL player Dean Widders.
