Training well on Tuesday at the side’s field session, Sharks Captain Paul Gallen has been named to make a return to action in this Friday’s Preliminary Final versus the Cowboys.

Missing from the Sharks’ week one NRL Finals win in Canberra due to a back complaint, Gallen will line up for the side’s first Grand Final qualifier since 2008.

Suffering a head knock in the side’s win over the Raiders, Wade Graham has also been named to take his place in the run on side, alongside regular backrow partner Luke Lewis.

In another boost for the Sharks, Sam Tagataese will be considered for selection having been named in jersey number 18.

Tagataese has not featured for the Sharks since the side’s Round 22 match against the Raiders due to a shoulder injury.

In other team news, Ricky Leutele has been named at left centre to partner Sosaia Feki on the flank, while Gerard Beale fills the 14 jersey on the interchange bench.

Kurt Capewell maintains his place in the ‘17’, having starred in his maiden Finals outing when filling in for the injured Graham.
