Southern Cross Group Stadium will be the venue tonight for a ‘festival of female footy’ tonight when Women’s League Touch Grand Finals are conducted in five different divisions.
League Touch in 2016 has seen female players compete for local junior league clubs in weekly competitions which culminate in their Grand Finals tonight.
The Sharks NRL Women’s Team, featuring Jillaroos Sam Bremner, Allana Ferguson and Australian, NSW and Sharks captain Ruan Sims will be on hand to motivate the stars of the future and to talk about how League Touch and League tackle are working together to increase female participation in the sport of rugby league.
The girls will also assist with presentations and be on hand to meet and greet all the players and spectators.
The advent of League Touch this season has resulted in a 3000% increase in female participation in JRL clubs from 2015 to 2016, with expectations of another 500 player increase next year.
The time has finally arrived to celebrate the end of the inaugural League Touch season with the competition GRAND FINALS!!

Please note that gates to Southern Cross Group Stadium will open at 4:10pm and entry is FREE! Seating will be on the Western Side (ET Stand) only.
