The Newtown Jets, the Sharks partner club in the Intrust Super Premiership, will be desperate for success and looking for a change of fortunes when they tackle the Penrith Panthers later today.

After going down to a Robbie Farah-inspired Tigers last weekend and on the end of a 60-6 drubbing by the Penrith side the previous occasion the two teams met, the Jets should arrive at Henson Park determined to turn things around and begin their push for the competition finals.

In their favour there will be no emotion charged opponents as was the case at Leichhardt last Saturday and the Penrith team of six weeks ago is a vastly different one to the 17 that will take to the field this time around.

Back in round 16 it was demoted NRL squad member Jamie Soward who put the Jets to the sword, however the classy playmaker has since departed for the UK, his place taken by Panthers young gun Te Maire Martin in what will be his first game back from a long term injury.

The Jets will field eight Sharks-contracted players in the game, which kicks off at 3.00pm at Henson Park.

See following some game day details as provided by Newtown Jets media.

It’s a vital Intrust Super Premiership round for both the Jets and Penrith at Henson Park on Saturday.

Both teams will be fielding changed line-ups from when they last met five weeks ago.

Tomorrow at Henson Park will also see the inaugural Beer, Food and Footy Festival where the very best of Inner-West craft breweries and niche food outlets will be operating on the Henson Park hill.

This is a terrific innovation by the Newtown RLFC as the club continues to establish strong links with the boutique businesses and entrepreneurs that are making inner-western Sydney such a special place to be part of.
