The Make Bullying History Foundation, established by husband and wife team Brett and Terrisa Murray, is about empowering young lives and having a positive impact on students, parents and teachers around Australia, New Zealand and further abroad.
The culmination of decades of care, research, passion and coalface experience, through their continued work and seminars the Make Bullying History Foundation is committed to ensuring that all people are treated with honour, dignity and respect.
Earlier this year the Make Bullying History Foundation formed a partnership with the Sharks, one that will see them present at local schools during 2016 and 2017 with the objective being to eradicate bullying in the Sutherland Shire and beyond.
Now in a further cementing of the relationship between Murray, the Make Bullying History Foundation and the Sharks, Saturday night at Southern Cross Group Stadium will highlight this important and powerful program as the game day community partner.
Murray will speak to those assembled in the Stonefish Chairman’s Club, before going on field prior to the kick-off of the main game to pass on his anti-bullying messages to the crowd at Southern Cross Group Stadium.
Around 30 volunteers will also be on hand on Saturday in accepting bucket donations on behalf of the Make Bullying History Foundation, proceeds which will help them continue their work in the community.
“We believe we can take this positive message, that is to stop bullying, and we can get kids to start believing,” Murray said. “I’ve been helping young people to stand tall and to make a difference.”
The Make Bullying History Foundation has objectives for the remainder of 2016 and on to 2017 to serve 80 schools and over 50,000 students, teachers and parents across Australia through their specialised anti-bullying presentations, seminars and workshops.
Meanwhile closer to home Murray in heading up the Sharks Make Bullying History Initiative (MBHI) is targeting 21 local area schools before the end of next year. The Sharks MBHI was launched at the Woolooware High School earlier this year.
