Luke Lewis and newcomer Jordan Drew will attend a special ceremony at the Kurnell Public School tomorrow, while the Sharks NRL playing group were quick to throw their support behind White Ribbon, Australia’s campaign to prevent men’s violence against women.
The Sharks public show of support comes a day before the annual White Ribbon Day on November 25, where the cause is highlighted and awareness raised by a number of events and ceremonies held around the country.
In primary schools the focus is on developing 'Respectful Relationships', with the White Ribbon campaign about being 'Not Violent, Not Silent' regarding violence, in particular against women.
At Kurnell PS one of the talented teachers and students from K-6 have created a wall mural which will incorporate school values of Respect, Responsibility, Caring, Doing your Best and Inclusion, with Lewis and Drew to attend and assist with the unveiling.
Lewis is an ambassador for White Ribbon and with his wife Sonia will attend other events during the day.
One of the other major happenings on the day is the annual White Ribbon Walk, organised by the NSW Police Eastern Beaches Local Area Command and Randwick City Council. The Walk is an event aimed at raising awareness about domestic violence and asks men to stand up and say no to violence against women.
The annual Sydney Walk will be held tomorrow (November 25) and starts at High Cross Park, Randwick at 7.30am and finishes at Grant Reserve, Coogee Beach.

Following the walk, an informal breakfast, speeches and oath ceremony will take place at Grant Reserve, finishing by 9am.
The NRL will this year throw its support behind the White Ribbon Walk in attempting to emphasise their stance against domestic violence.
Numerous events similar to the one being conducted at the local Kurnell Primary School will be held across the state and around the country.
