Sharks Coach Shane Flanagan spoke with Sharks TV after his side's training session at the Cronulla High School on Friday afternoon.

In what were stiffling conditions, the Sharks were pushed to their limits, with Flanagan and his staff not letting up despite the warm weather.

Flanagan also announced the signing of a former Rooster in Matt McIlwrick, and said he will be warmly welcomed to the Club.

"It's hot and sticky conditions, but they really tried hard, and it's good to see," Flanagan said.

"I'm pretty happy with the way (the side) came back (from the off season).

"We always like the carry three hookers ... Matt's come from the Roosters, he's coming from a really good system. He's going to add some really quality depth to that '9' position."

Note: This interview was delivered to Sharks Members on Friday afternoon - to be the first to see things like this, be sure to become a Sharks Member for the 2016 season!
