Three Sharks NYC squad members in Jayden Brailey, Connor Tracey and Lachlan Stein have been invited to attend the NSWRL 2015 Under 20s Origin Pathways Camp to be held at the NSW Academy of Sport Complex in Narrabeen.
The three players will attend the camp which involves both on and off-field education, some physical performance testing, skill and game sense knowledge and awareness training, along with professional lifestyle habit and practical experience education.
All training sessions will be supervised by qualified sports trainers and involve active and hydrotherapy recovery.
Brailey and Tracey, both of whom are currently training with the Sharks NRL squad during the pre-season, will join Stein and a selection of the best under-20’s talent from across the state at the camp which is scheduled to run over two days on December 11 and 12.
The three talented young Sharks come into 2016 after widely differing 2015 seasons, with Brailey playing every game of the Holden Cup season last year, Tracey missed the majority of the games after suffering an ACL tear, while Stein only joined the Sharks mid-season from St George Illawarra.
Brailey is a hooker, Tracey and halfback and Stein a solidly-built outside back.
The trio’s attendance at the camp follows on from under 16’s Camps conducted by the NSWRL last weekend, while the 18’s group will assemble today and tomorrow.
The Sharks contributed nine players to the respective training camps as a part of the NSWRL Pathways Program, with four players involved in the 16’s and five in the 18’s.
The large numbers of players identified and invited to the camps is a reflection of the success enjoyed by the Sharks at a junior representative level in 2015, with both the Matthews Cup and SG Ball teams winning their respective NSWRL competitions as well as the National age group titles.
All training camps coming under the 2016 NSWRL Pathways Program are designed to complement the coaching and experience that players gain throughout their club training and representative competition programs.
The aim is to assist talented players to reach their full potential and to potentially play for the NSW Junior Blues. The emphasis of the programs focus on what it takes to become a successful Origin player and team member and learning about the values, cultures and trademarks that the NSW team continue to adopt in their players.
