Sealing the two points with a cheeky scoot from acting half, Michael Ennis' try in the 78th minute ensured Cronulla would sit on the cusp of a top four berth heading into the NRL semi finals.

Ennis was happy with his personal performance, and also please the side managed to seal the result despite trailing with under ten minutes remaining.

"They've (Parramatta) got some really big bodies through the middle there, and a lot of skill across the park ... (We've got) plenty of things to work on but this time of year you just need to keep ticking the two points over," he said.

"We were fortunate enough to do that today at a place that's very tough to come and play."
